Does the S608 work with my car?

The S608 supports 140+ global brands and 10,000+ models from 1996 to 2026, covering most gasoline and diesel passenger vehicles. It supports 28 languages for worldwide use. Please contact us with your vehicle's year, make, and model before purchasing to confirm compatibility.

Do I need to pay for software updates?

No. The S608 comes with lifetime free software updates. Simply connect to Wi-Fi and update with one click — no subscription fees, no hidden costs, ever.

What is CAN FD and does my car support it?

CAN FD (Controller Area Network Flexible Data-rate) is a newer communication protocol used in 2019+ GM and Chrysler vehicles. It enables 6× faster communication speed and more precise diagnostics compared to standard CAN. If your vehicle is a 2019 or newer GM/Chrysler model, the S608 fully supports it.

Do I need to buy anything extra for FCA or Renault SGW access?

Yes. To access 2017+ FCA vehicles or 2015+ Renault vehicles through their Security Gateway (SGW), you will need to purchase an AutoAuth account (for FCA) or a Renault physical token separately. The S608 hardware supports the bypass, but the account/token is not included.

What are the 9 reset services included?

The S608 includes: Oil Reset, EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) Reset, ABS Bleeding, SAS (Steering Angle Sensor) Calibration, DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) Regeneration, Injector Coding, BMS (Battery Management System) Matching, Throttle Adaptation, and Gear Learning. Note: availability varies by vehicle model.

Can the S608 perform active tests / bi-directional control?

Yes. The S608 supports full bi-directional control, allowing you to send commands directly to vehicle ECUs to test components such as ABS pump, fuel injectors, throttle body, coolant pump, and EVAP system — without disassembly. This helps pinpoint faulty parts quickly and accurately.

How long does the battery last?

The S608 is equipped with a 4,150mAh battery designed for all-day use in the workshop without needing to recharge. Battery life will vary depending on screen brightness and usage intensity.

Why can't the S608 scan all modules in my vehicle?

The S608 is designed for 4-system diagnostics (Engine, ABS, SRS, Transmission). For full-system scans including BCM, TPMS, HVAC, and advanced ECU coding, consider upgrading to the KINGBOLEN K7 or K8.

The device lists my vehicle as compatible but won't connect. What should I do?

Try these steps: (1) Inspect OBD2 pins for bending or corrosion. (2) Check vehicle battery voltage — low voltage can prevent communication. (3) Ensure the connector is fully inserted. (4) Turn ignition to ON position. (5) Test on another vehicle to isolate whether the issue is the scanner or the vehicle's OBD port.

Real-Time Bi-Directional Control for Active Component Testing
Go beyond reading fault codes with real-time bi-directional control. The S608 can send commands directly to supported vehicle systems and actuators, allowing users to actively test components instead of only observing stored fault information. Supported examples include electronic throttle, power windows, mirrors, exterior lights, horn, and other available actuators depending on the vehicle. By commanding a component and checking its actual response, technicians can separate electrical, mechanical, and control problems faster—reducing unnecessary disassembly and helping avoid replacing good parts.
OE-Level Diagnostics for 4 Core Vehicle Systems
The S608 takes diagnostics beyond engine-only scanning with OE-level access to four critical vehicle systems: Engine/ECM, Transmission/TCM, ABS, and SRS/Airbag. Users can perform deeper diagnostic operations including reading and clearing DTCs, retrieving system information, viewing live data, and analyzing freeze-frame information on supported vehicles. These four systems cover many of the most important fault areas encountered in everyday vehicle repair, giving DIYers and technicians more diagnostic depth without requiring a larger full-system scanner.
9 Essential Maintenance Services for Everyday Repairs
Complete the maintenance jobs that come up most often with 9 essential service functions built directly into the S608. Functions include Oil Lamp Reset, Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Reset, Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) Calibration, DPF Regeneration, Throttle Body Matching, Injector Coding, ABS Brake Bleeding, Battery Management System (BMS) Reset, and Gearbox Learning. These functions help restore system settings after routine service, component replacement, or repair work, making the S608 far more useful than a basic code reader.
Full OBD2 Functions with All 10 Test Modes
Use the S608 as a complete OBD2 diagnostic and emissions-testing tool with support for all 10 standard OBD2 test modes. Functions include reading codes, clearing codes and resetting the MIL, live data, freeze-frame data, I/M readiness, O2 sensor testing, on-board monitor testing, vehicle information, DTC lookup, and component testing. Whether you are investigating a Check Engine Light, checking emissions readiness before inspection, or monitoring engine data in real time, the S608 provides the essential OBD2 tools in one interface.
AutoVIN 2.0 for Faster Vehicle Identification
Spend less time selecting vehicle information manually. AutoVIN 2.0 helps the S608 automatically identify supported vehicle information and load the corresponding diagnostic software, giving users a faster starting point for diagnosis. This is especially useful when working on multiple vehicles, helping technicians move from connecting the scanner to checking the vehicle’s systems with fewer repetitive steps.
4-in-1 Live Data Graphing for Faster Fault Analysis
Turn raw sensor readings into information that is easier to understand. The S608 supports 4-in-1 live data graphing, allowing multiple data parameters to be displayed and compared together rather than checking each value separately. This makes it easier to identify abnormal trends, compare related sensor behavior, and observe how vehicle parameters change under different operating conditions—helping users diagnose performance and intermittent issues more efficiently.
CAN FD Support for Newer Vehicle Platforms
The S608 supports CAN FD, an advanced communication protocol increasingly used by newer vehicles. Compared with conventional CAN networks, CAN FD can transfer larger amounts of data more efficiently, helping improve communication speed and diagnostic responsiveness on compatible vehicles. This gives the S608 broader usefulness on newer automotive platforms and helps extend the working life of the tool as vehicle electronics continue to evolve.
Broad Coverage for 110+ Brands & 100,000+ Models
Work across a wide range of vehicles with coverage for 110+ global vehicle brands and more than 100,000 vehicle models, spanning OBD2-compliant vehicles from 1996 through 2025. The S608 also supports 28 diagnostic software languages, making it practical for users and workshops across different markets. Vehicle and function coverage varies by make, model, model year, and ECU configuration.
3000+ DTC Library & Code Search
A fault code is useful only when you understand what it means. The S608 includes a 3000+ DTC database to help users quickly interpret diagnostic trouble codes, while integrated code-search functionality provides an additional route to troubleshooting information. Instead of stopping after retrieving a DTC, technicians can move more quickly toward understanding the affected system and deciding what to inspect next.
Diagnostic Report Sharing & Printing
Turn diagnostic results into usable service records. The S608 can create diagnostic information that can be shared or printed, helping users document vehicle condition, preserve troubleshooting records, or communicate findings more clearly to customers. For professional workshops, this makes the diagnostic process easier to integrate into a more organized repair workflow rather than leaving important information only on the scanner screen.
Lifetime Free Software Updates
Keep using the scanner without adding annual update costs. The S608 includes lifetime free software updates, allowing users to continue receiving available vehicle software and diagnostic improvements over time. Ongoing software support improves long-term ownership value and makes the S608 particularly attractive to DIY users and independent workshops that want predictable operating costs.
Online & Remote Technical Support
When a diagnostic case needs additional help, the S608 provides online technical support and remote assistance to give users another troubleshooting path. Rather than treating the scanner as a completely isolated tool, users can seek additional assistance when they encounter difficult cases, making complex diagnostic work easier to continue and improving the overall ownership experience.
6.2-Inch HD Android Diagnostic Platform
The S608 combines a 6.2-inch 1024×600 HD touchscreen, Android 8.1, a 4-core 1.8GHz processor, 2GB RAM + 32GB storage, and a 4150mAh battery in a rugged compact housing. The hardware provides enough performance for diagnostic menus, live data, reports, and daily workshop tasks while remaining more portable than larger professional tablets. 2.4GHz Wi-Fi supports convenient software updates and online functions.
