P2C72 — Hybrid/EV Electronics Cooling System Performance
The hybrid control module detects that the power electronics cooling system does not maintain target temperatures under load. Coolant flow, radiator fouling, or pump output reduced.
General code reference. Confirm the definition and diagnostic procedure for your vehicle's year, model and engine. A stored code alone does not identify a failed part.
Affected components
- Hybrid electronics coolant pump a
- Hybrid electronics radiator
- Power electronics coolant loop
Possible causes to check
These are possible checks, not a ranked diagnosis. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's test procedure before replacing parts.
- Radiator fins fouled - reduced heat rejection
- Coolant aged - reduced heat capacity
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
