P2BE2 — Hybrid/EV Battery Coolant Level Sensor Circuit Low
The hybrid control module detects a circuit low fault on the high-voltage battery coolant level sensor. Coolant loss in the battery loop cannot be detected reliably.
General code reference. Confirm the definition and diagnostic procedure for your vehicle's year, model and engine. A stored code alone does not identify a failed part.
Affected components
- Hybrid battery coolant level sensor
- Wiring harness
- Bms
Possible causes to check
These are possible checks, not a ranked diagnosis. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's test procedure before replacing parts.
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Internal sensor short
- Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
Possible symptoms
- EV/hybrid system warning light on
- Reduced power output or limp mode
- Charging may fail or be slowed
- Reduced electric range
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
