P2099 — Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Rich (Bank 2)

Bank 2 counterpart of P2097. Post-catalyst trim on bank 2 has reached the rich limit — usually a depleted catalyst or a downstream sensor biased rich on the bank 2 side.

General code reference. Confirm the definition and diagnostic procedure for your vehicle's year, model and engine. A stored code alone does not identify a failed part.

Affected components

  • Oxygen sensor downstream
  • Catalytic converter

Possible causes to check

These are possible checks, not a ranked diagnosis. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's test procedure before replacing parts.
